REACH EVERYONE | CHAT
The KenCube chat connects colleagues in one-to-one and group chats, in the browser and in the KenCube app. Chats stay within your own organization, and the data remains in Europe.
One-to-one and group chats
- Start a one-to-one chat with anyone via name search
- Chat groups for teams, sites or recurring topics
- Create groups yourself and add people
- List of all conversations, with an unread counter
- Push in the KenCube app for new messages and reactions
In practice: The shift supervisor in production runs a chat group for the early shift. If a machine breaks down, the whole team learns about it via push, including those working on the line. The supervisor then clarifies individual questions in one-to-one chats.
Messages and files
- Share images, videos, audio files and documents
- View PDF, Word, PowerPoint and Excel directly in the chat, without downloading
- Reply to or forward individual messages
- Reactions with emojis
- Format text as bold, italic or strikethrough
- Search within a conversation, with a jump to the result
In practice: A technician sends a photo of the control cabinet from the construction site to his team's group. A colleague in the office replies directly to the photo and attaches the wiring diagram as a PDF. The technician opens the diagram in the chat on his phone without downloading it.
Links and pinned messages
- Mention people with @
- Link posts, folders and people with #, visible only with read access
- Preview for inserted links
- Pin any number of messages, for yourself or for everyone
- Pin bar with a jump to the message in the history
In practice: In the group of a hospital ward, a new colleague asks how medication rounds work. The ward manager links the relevant knowledge post with # and pins the message for everyone. Anyone who wants to check later finds the link at the top in the pin bar.
Settings and data protection
- Enable the chat for everyone or only for selected groups, or hide it completely if needed
- Allow one-to-one chats or restrict the chat to groups
- Restrict the creation of new groups to admins and area managers
- Allow file uploads separately for one-to-one chats and groups
- GDPR-compliant hosting in ISO 27001 certified data centers in the EU
In practice: A company first introduces the chat for team leads. One-to-one chats remain disabled at the start, and only area managers create groups. After a few weeks, the chat is opened to the entire workforce.
